But St. Paul wrote: 28 "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." Brownson tells the students that America is really in trouble from the anti-Christian principles brought in by the northern victory over the south. He says the only hope is for the students to go out and seriously live the Christian life amidst a culture basically going to hell in a hand basket.
