Peter Helland talks about how evolution gained a foothold at the University of Notre Dame through Father Zahm when he wrote his book "Evolution and Dogma" in 1896. Immediately the Vatican was threatening to put this book on the Index of forbidden books when the Americanist movement struck a deal to save Zahm's career. Although Zahm was supposed to recant his beliefs and pull the book off the shelves this did not happen in America. Instead his heretical Darwinian views were continued through Father O'Brien at Notre Dame and spread throughout the American Catholic Church. The results were that after the encyclical Humani Generis in 1950 the Catholic Church in America soon succumbed to the logical contradictions at the heart of theistic evolution. Sirach 49:16 which requires the Church to honor Adam above all men was ignored. By ignoring the historical Adam and the nature of his sin the Church has become blind to the fact that they are walking in Adam's sinful ways by again allowing the women to rule over the men to everyone's destruction.
