FFrom Thane to Tyrant
Blinded by the lust for power and driven by the pain of their own childlessness, the royal couple Macbeth transform their country into a slaughterhouse.

Protected by mysterious prophecies, however, their destiny makes its way through the changing forests of Birnam.

In his opera MACBETH, Giuseppe Verdi tightens the plot of Shakespeare's tragedy and intensifies both the tension and the dramatic effect. Director Marie-Ève Signeyrole stages the work as an opera thriller, set in a dystopian near future.

Next performances tonight and on 4/8 December 2024, and 11/19/25 January 2025.
