Last time we went over several alternatives for a power architecture for two motors with two batteries (link below). Anyway, during the heatwave I’ve noticed that the linear regulator of my power supply gets quite hot. So let’s fix that.

First I explain the problem and we measure how much current the motor controller is consuming. Then we do some calculations to quantify my temperature “feelings”. Finally we come up with a solution that reduces the dissipated power.
