Quarterly test of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant sirens in October 2021. There are 76 sirens in the system located within the 10-mile emergency planning zone around the plant in Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula Counties. Perry's system consists entirely of Equinoxes except for two used ASC T-121s. In addition, Lake County owns and operates their own system of 50 2001-SRNs alongside the plant system.
This siren (L-30) is located at the Big Creek at Liberty Hollow Metro Park parking lot off Fay Rd. in Concord Township. It replaced a Whelen WS-2008 in 2017; that siren is still up on its pole just up the road, albeit missing its old UltraVoice controller.
Perry and Lake County's sirens are tested on the 2nd Wednesday of January, April, July, and October at 11 am.
