Location of this siren: 3864 W Bath Rd, Bath, OH 44210
Left my recorder outside school today to catch the 2001-130 activating for SWA (conducted at 9:50 AM EDT) after Bath Township Police posted last night that they'd be sounding the sirens today. The one at Revere High School was installed and tested for its inaugural test on SWA 2009 in March of that year, and is joint controlled by Richfield Village and Bath Township Police, although since Richfield installed a 2001 of their own in 2017, they have primarily controlled that siren. Since then, this 2001 has been plagued with radio failures and fails weekly testing often. This siren has not successfully activated for SWA since at least 2010.
Their Model 5B is located at Bath Township Fire Station 1 on West Bath Road, and is located approximately 2.43 miles from where my Sony ICD-PX370 was set up near my school directly underneath the -130, and from that far away, the sound is crystal clear, which goes to show how great these recorders really are. I increased the volume on the editor to 200% so it'd be easier to hear without fully increasing your volume, but even at a lower volume it did come out that clear as it does in the video. SWA was a success after all! My recorder was recording for the entire school day and was recording for about an impressive 7 hours and 44 minutes. Anyways, enjoy!
