Went out to record this Werden B-115 a couple weeks ago for Miami County's test.
I had been trying to get out here since Fall of 2019 but was never able to get to Miami County until now, and decided on this one since I wanted to hear it before I moved away for college. I'm sure glad I went to this thing, it shook the ground nearly underneath it and was extremely loud underneath. This is the only siren of its kind in existence for now at least. It's located just outside of Casstown at the Miami County Pumping Station.
I had never heard a Banshee before (another reason why I decided on recording this), and this thing was much louder and more potent than I had anticipated. All in all, I was extremely impressed by this thing. While it may not be a true Banshee, it's close enough for me to cross hearing one off my siren bucket list.
Miami County tests their sirens on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10 AM, weather-permitting. If it is cloudy/rainy out or storms are anticipated later in the day, the test will be cancelled for that month.
