Decided to head up to Erie County today for their test (since it was the first day of the month) and since I haven't heard an Eclipse in person before, I decided on the Eclipse (which is AC-only) located in downtown Milan while I placed my audio recorder at the AC-only SRNB located at the other fire station just outside of town. I also decided to come here as I did not want to risk a First Monday county (Wayne and Stark), because they seem to have issues with their sirens or testing them.
It was pretty loud and vibrated the ground a bit, and while it wasn't too loud, it was louder than I'd expected it to be. This siren was installed a few years back to cover the downtown areas of Milan, as the two existing SRNB's did not cover this area well.
Special thanks to Cameron K. (Sirens of NE Ohio) for letting me borrow his scanner to get tones for this test...that was awesome!
Even though this siren has been recorded before, I came here because I wanted to hear an Eclipse for myself, as well as to get this epic building shot.
Apologies about the zooming in and out, my OCD kicked in towards the end of the video and I got worried that it was out of focus and super dark when it actually wasn't...oops. All in all this was a great test. Enjoy!
