Decided to stay close on this 1st Saturday after being tired from Sirencon 2025 and not really wanting to go super far out as I had woken up late. I had debated between one of the Unified Regional SRNBs, the Cuyahoga Heights Fedelcode, or an Independence 7T, and ended up picking this one. Glad I did because Independence failed like usual despite having worked fine last month when CVD South tested them. The Unified/CVD North (SE Regional Tornado Sirens) went off early at around 11:55, so naturally I missed the windup as I was still setting up my camera. Oops. Cameron (@sirensofneohio3979 ) was also here and raced off to Solon to catch their test afterwards.
This one is located in Bedford Heights near the Perkins Plaza strip mall. I was surprised it worked and sounded as healthy as it did, given the rectifier is almost completely rusted through on this unit. Enjoy!
The SE Unified Regional Tornado Sirens in Cuyahoga County are tested on the 1st Saturday of the month at noon, weather-permitting. (I can't remember if CVD is now seasonal, if they are the tests run between March and November).
