Garfield Mountain rises majestically above the confluence of the Taylor and Middle Fork Snoqualmie Rivers. Its sheer cliffs of granodiorite and volcanic rock tower more than 4,400 feet above the valley below. Most visitors take the easy 2.2-mile Garfield Ledges Trail to a rocky ledge offering scenic views. Others—extremely experienced technical rock climbers—strike out for its lofty summit. However, there are also less-technical scrambler routes that provide excellent views. Overall, this area offers something for everyone, from novice hikers to experienced scramblers to the most advanced technical rock climbers.
