Hi, this is Scott with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at and installing the Access Vanish tonneau cover on our 2026 Ford F-350. Our Vanish tonneau cover is going to be a soft roll-up tonneau cover. Now, this is going to have some bars that go across the inside, which help keep tension on this, so it kind of adds a little durability to this. This is going to be a really nice option for people that are looking for something that's going to cover the bed of their truck, but still be able to use your entire bed. Now, this is going to roll up and go all the way up to the bulkhead, so you're still going to have access to the back of your truck.
So that way, if you're pulling a fifth wheel or something like that, or you haul a lot of heavy loads, but you still want to maintain having a cover, you're going to be able to do that with this one. So this is going to be made out of vinyl and it's going to have aluminum bars that go across through the center of it that's going to tension it up. Now, this is going to be water resistant, but not waterproof. So you will have a little bit of water that comes in, so don't be surprised if you get a little bit of water in there. That's usually the deal with most tonneau covers.
This is going to give you a level of security where people aren't going to be able to see the things in the back, but they would be able to get in there if they cut into it. But if you have a locking tailgate, this is also going to be locked down because you're not going to be able to get at the switch underneath here unless you unlock your tailgate to get at that. When you're ready to open this up, it's really simple. You're going to unlatch it here in the back, and then you'll just start rolling that up. When you're unrolling this, it's going to have the hook and loop on the sides of here where it's going to release as you're rolling that forward.
And again, you'll see one of the nice things I like about these is how it's going to give you full access to your bed, and that way you can still use the whole bed of your truck. Now, when you have this all rolled up, you are going to have these straps that you're going to be able to secure this with. You can just bring these over and you can hook these through these little tabs, and that's going to hold it secure so you don't have to worry about that unrolling on you. That's a really nice feature with these. Another nice feature is you're going to have adjustable tension, and it's going to show you which way to turn this so you can tighten this up.
So over time, say these get a little worn in and you want to get this a little bit tighter fitting so you don't have a lot of flopping in the wind, you can go ahead and tighten up these dials on both sides and that's going to give it more tension. Now when you roll this up, this is really simple to get latched in place. It's going to go ahead and catch on both sides. You just push it down and latch it in place. To start our installation, the first thing we want to do is get our rail sections put together. Now I have this one kind of slid together and what I had to do is you're going to have this strip, this hook and loop, went and slid that down our one side and we got our holes to line up. Now in our kit, we're going to have this square nut and we're going to have our shorter bolt that's going to go with that. So what I want to do is this is going to be slotted right in here. So I'm going to take my bolt and just run that in and I'm going to start the end of my nut on there and we just want to get it started to where it's going to start pulling into that slot. So we'll start that on with my fingers for now. And what we want to do is make sure we have everything lined up the best we can get that
