Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a look together at this Timbren rear wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now, this kit has been designed to fit your 2012 to 2018 Ford F-150 with a manual parking brake. And on custom-fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and answer any other questions that it might have for you and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Now, upgrading your suspension can improve the ride quality of your truck, it can help reduce sag, and can also make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling heavier loads, but it doesn't reduce the extra workload placed on your factory brakes. So if you've ever felt like that your truck takes longer to stop with the trailer or with a heavier load, or maybe your brakes are wearing out faster than you expected, or that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES upgrade kit comes in. This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads or towing those heavier trailers. This kit includes these low-metallic OnyxBite brake pads that are going to provide a strong initial bite and it's going to eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. These multi-layered rubbered shims are going to help keep brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance. As you can see there on your screen, I just have a photo of an example of one of Timbren's shims there just showing you the construction there and giving you just a closer view of what's involved with construction of these brake pads. So these positive molded pads paired with these precision balanced rotors are going to promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal feel. Speaking of these rotors, these are OEM style vented rotors, as you can see here. That's going to help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing.
And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors and they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins, and outer edges. As you know, heat is the enemy of brakes. So this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than standard Geomet coating that's most commonly used on OEM parts. The coating's also going to help protect the rotors from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between services without affecting braking performance. So the pads and the rotors also feature a break-in coating and finish that's going to help speed up the bedding in process.
So you're going to enjoy more consistent braking performance right after installation. So this kit includes everything that you see here, and installation's going to be relatively straightforward.
