Last Saturday, while I was doing final preparations for the swap meet, I went to the hardware store to get batteries. Sounds innocent enough, right?
I get to the stop light and see the sign: "Estate Sale". I don't recognize the address so I pull it up on Maps once I get into the parking lot for the hardware store (yes, I went to Randy's Do It Best - support your local hardware store!) The estate sale is in the subdivision adjacent to the shopping center... guess I'm going!
I an fairly good at shopping yard sales from my car, and this estate sale looks promising enough: everything is on the driveway and in the garage like a yard sale. Walking up the driveway, I see two items that I overlooked while trying to avoid other traffic: two PowerMac G4s.
Even better: the sellers tell me that they are $20 each, but I can have both for $35. One has a hard drive and "should boot into some old version of Mac OS, but they both work". Sold.
Which G4s are they, and do I already own either of then? Will they chime? Will we find more bad RAM? You'll have to watch to find out!
