Back in 1997 (yes, I'm old), I built my first PC and took some blurry photos of it. Little did "1997 Me" know that "2023 Me" would not only be able to determine the parts that went into that first PC from a couple of blurry photos, but would also be able to source most of those parts from eBay (the place where I buy things I later regret™).
Probably because "1997 Me" figured that no one in their right mind would want to be using a computer this old over 26 years later...
As far as I know, I'm still in my right mind, and "2023 Me" managed to identify and buy the motherboard I used in my first PC. Just one problem: the motherboard I bought will not let me configure non-AMD CPUs - it crashes instead of saving settings. But I know this motherboard supports Cyrix and Intel CPUs, as I remember configuring them all when I built systems with this board at the computer shop. So you probably know where this is going...
Plus, because swapping motherboards probably won't take all stream (I hope), I'm also going to start rebuilding my second PC. I don't have a picture of it (past me learned by then that my camera didn't focus that close), so I'm going more on memory that anything else. Plus, since my second PC would have been really close to other computers I presently have, I'm going to focus on how I remember it being around the time I went to college.
Will the second first motherboard have the same fault (despite the seller showing it running with an Intel)? Will I realize I'm missing important case parts for the second PC rebuild? Will we even manage to get that far in the first place? You'll have to watch to find out!
