Elrond's theme was defined by it's kind, calm, and tender sound, played in either quiet contemplative moments or scenes where Elrond's warmth shines through. This theme continues the same emotional tone from season one, but as Bear stated in his season one blogs, it's true strength begins to show itself in its versatility. With Elrond front and center as the leader of the armies into Eregion, and leads a group of elven rangers through dangerous territory, his theme becomes emboldened by pure heroics. Blaring on brass, bolstered by an orchestra, desperately fighting against the rising drums of Adar, or being sung somberly by a child soprano in his most dire moments. McCreary has shown that his theme is much more than tender and kind; it's utterly heroic in the ways Elrond always has been.
