One of the standout tracks of the film is played during Elijah and Annie's love making scene, and as it turns out it's a theme for the couple's love and their respective tragedies. Soft guitar strumming followed by a six note plucking motif (one that is synched to Annie striking matches in film!) that grows louder and bolder as the scene progresses, with RNB and later rock elements folding in. It's not played often compared to other themes in the film, but it's a very serene, passionate, and heartfelt theme that captures the romance without forgoing the southern influence deeply ingrained in the sound of the film.
