On 11 July 1910, Inspector Walter Dew of Scotland Yard arrived at 39 Hilldrop Crescent to speak to American homeopath Hawley Harvey Crippen for a second time, intending to follow up on an earlier interview about the disappearance of his wife, Cora. To his surprise, he found the house deserted, with no sign of Crippen or his secretary and mistress Ethel 'Le Neve' Neave. It was the beginning of a sequence of events that would lead to a trans-Atlantic chase and one of the most sensational murder trials of the early 20th century.
Note that this programme was made in 1992, before new DNA evidence regarding the Crippen case surfaced in 2007 and called Crippen's guilt into question.
