šĀ What to do instead during extreme summer heat when you get hot, sweaty and impatient to cool down:
š« Donāt stand directly in the blast of your air conditioner to cool down.
ā Instead, wipe away sweat with a towel and rest on a lower floor or basement level of your home, or a cool spot thatās away from direct a/c airflow. Itās better to cool down more gradually.
š« Donāt immediately chug ice water.
ā Instead, slowly sip room temperature, warm, or just cool (but not iced) water. Add lemon and a pinch of high-mineral sea salt (Celtic, Himalayan, or Redmondās) to support more efficient hydration. Or eat some juicy watermelon š.
š« Donāt jump straight into an ice bath or freezing shower.
ā Wait 15ā20 minutes for your body to cool down on its own. Then go ahead and take a cool (not cold) shower, or even slightly warm is ok (but not hot).
These tips help preserve your healthy flow of Qi (energy) and blood circulation through your body, while keeping your immune system strong and your gut health in good shape, too!
