Follow these TCM rules (esp in Winter!) and your life just might change if you have chronic issues with: menstrual cramps, low energy, constantly getting colds & infections, always freezing & cold, bloating & gas, loose stools, irritable bowel.
In examining my patients’ lifestyles most have constant exposure to coldness. SO many regularly drink water straight from the fridge. They also eat leftovers, yogurt or food straight from the fridge - cold. Standing barefoot on hardwood and tiles (which are often too cool compared to body temp) can also encourage cold energy to enter through your feet and legs. Sleeping with wet hair is a habit many also have, but didn’t know could lead to issues like headaches, neck pain, colds.
When my patients reduce their exposure to coldness and work to maintain a warmer body temp, so many of their physical issues disappear. I have seen this more times than I can count. Bloating and GI issues improve when you focus on warm foods, hot beverages. For menstrual cramps, you might think it’s magic. But it’s not - it’s based on TCM’s understanding of physiology.
As always, this is not medical advice and is for educational purposes only. Talk to your Acupuncturist or TCM practitioner if you have a chronic medical condition before following anything you see on social media (including our content).
