In this video I will show you how to build a modern and clean looking baby gate (or pet gate)! I designed the gate such that it does not require any holes drilled in the walls or stair case, and it is compatible with glass partitions!
If you have a modern stair case with glass partitions, then you know how difficult it is to find a baby gate solution that will work with your stair case. You cannot use the tension style baby gates as I don't think it is safe to put that kind of tension on the glass partitions as you might break them. My design uses 3D printed glass clamps that are similar in design to glass clamps used in modern railings to hold glass panels in place.
I've also designed my own safety latch that requires a certain amount of dexterity and hand strength that a child should not be able to operate. Additionally, I placed the latches on the back side of the gate to prevent a child from tampering with the latch and it gives the gate a very clean look!
I was very happy with how this project turned out and I received many compliments on the look of these gates. Finally, safety gates do not have to be ugly!
These gates would also work as pet gates to keep curious critters from exploring your stair cases.
I have made all of the 3D printed parts available in the link below. You can adapt them to work with your own project and if you need some dimensions changed, let me know and I may be able to do that for you!

As this is a DIY solution, I cannot say that somehow the design is certified in any way, nor will I take responsibility for anything you build.
