In this video I will show you how to install the XTOOL RA2 V2 Rotary Switch that was developed to address the issue of having to plug and unplug connectors each time you want to use the RA2 tool. This is the version that can mount both on the front and inside of the front frame member.
Now you can easily change between rotary and regular y-axis functions. Normally you would have to connect/disconnect the cables from the rotary and mainboard which eventually leads to the small connectors and wires breaking. It is still recommended to power off your machine while switching between the Y motor functions as a precaution to protect the stepper motor drivers on the main control board.
With the RA2 switch you can leave the cables plugged in and simply place your RA2 attachment to the side when not in use. You no longer have to be concerned with fatiguing the small connectors and cables.
The XTOOL RA2 Pro is a very versatile rotary attachment that is compatible with more than just the XTOOL cutters and engravers. Therefore this switch can be used on various other laser cutters and engravers with the correct connectors and wiring adapters.
This kit comes with the connector required for the XTool D1 Pro and is compatible with the various 10W/20W/40W mainboards.
The assembly easily mounts to the front or inside of the Xtool D1 Pro frame with included high strength mounting tape and double sided adhesive velcro. If you are using the XTOOL enclosure you will want to use the instructions in this video to mount it on the inside of the frame.
