What would you do with a Collins Axe that will not hold an edge? I first tried to use the fat blunt factory edge and quickly decided to file a new taper onto it. I wasn’t going to use my diamond stone on the new sharp edge, but it kept dulling so fast. I refined the taper and edge even more and used the diamond stone for some great results… until the first couple of cross grain chops. I’m not an expert, but I suppose there’s something wrong with the steel. So, I used it like that for years, got fed up with it, and finally, just started using it as a Wedge On A Stick.
