If you have a dry spindle but your fire board material is too short, too hard, or too wet, try the end grain fire board. It’s a thin disc or wafer cross section cut from that poor wood.
Using the end grain solves the short and hard problems while placing the 3/8” or thinner disc in the Sun for a couple of hours solves the wetness problem. Please, allow me to demonstrate.
