Most people have the opposite problem when first learning hand drill. It takes weeks to condition the skin of the hands not to blister. When you finally build enough thick skin, the opposite problem starts to rear its ugly head. Now, knotted, thick, and unsightly calluses make it too painful to hand drill.
I had to stop hand drilling last night because my calluses where too painful. It felt like a rock in between my palm and the hand drill. Meet me in the bathroom; and, I’ll show you how to remove those calluses and get back to spinning, pronto! (ONLY SHAVE AWAY HALF THE CALLUSES).
