Request Playthrough | Part 26: Tragedy Happens Anew
Difficulty: Balanced (Normal)
Another future has been changed for the better. But things are about to get much worse.
Before that, we do some sidequests including a battle against Marsmon. Afterwards we return to Merukimon but he seems worse for wear. However, he soon gets word that the battle to retake Central Town has begun. We want to help but he has us contend with D-SAT. We do that but not before doing battle in the Colosseum. Afterwards we meet with Dr. Simmons. She tells us that they're getting ready to activate a weapon that will wipe out all Digimon. To make matters worse, they are targeting Rebellion Village.
So we hurry to prevent the weapon from being activated. But what follows is Inori finding her father. Turns out Kosuke has changed since his kid disappeared eight years ago. Now he's working with D-SAT and is developing the weapon. Despite Inori determined to stop her father, he is ready to go through with it. He orders D-SAT to capture them as the weapon goes online. Inori tells Aegiomon and Dan to go on ahead. What happens now is all too familiar. But we get word from Chuumon that Merukimon had died. Sacrificing himself to help his allies escape. It's now about revenge.
We head up to the roof of the government building with the help of Birdramon. What follows is the weapon being used. Inori in fear and Aegiomon trying to save her only for a giant fist to emerge out of nowhere striking the weapon. The resulting shockwave unleashes a blast so massive that the Shinjuku Inferno happens again. Dan can only watch as Aegiomon tries to save Inori only for him to fail. The tragedy of losing someone dear to him causes him to change. To evolve. To become corrupted. Like a beacon of red light, he flies off in anger.
We return to the In-Between Theater and Mirei shows us another Akahsic Vision, about Merukimon. So now we got to change his fate, knowing the risks.
Part 27 is where we will retake Central Town.
