Desean Jackson Drops the Ball at the 1 Yard Line 🤦♂️
During a September 2008 Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys, rookie wide receiver DeSean Jackson caught a 61-yard pass and flipped the football behind him at the 1-yard line in his eagerness to celebrate before crossing the goal line.
Because he lost control of the ball before entering the end zone, the officials ruled it a fumble at the 1-yard line. Fortunately for Jackson and the Philadelphia Eagles, the nearest Cowboy failed to secure the live ball, and Philadelphia retained possession. Running back Brian Westbrook scored a touchdown on the very next play, allowing Jackson to avoid a costly turnover.
