With only 20 seconds remaining and the Giants leading 13-9, Jaguars backup quarterback Jonathan Quinn threw a pass toward the end zone.
Cornerback Fred Lewis intercepted the pass in the end zone, which should have effectively sealed a Giants victory. Instead of letting Lewis take a touchback or run, teammate Jack Golden tried to force Lewis to the ground to end the play and secure the win. Golden's tackle inadvertently popped the ball loose from Lewis's hands. Jaguars fourth-string tight end Brandon Christenson recovered the fumble in the end zone for a touchdown with just seven seconds left on the clock.
