How to crochet a wine bottle cozy? In this crochet tutorial, I show you how to crochet an elegant wine bottle gift bag that is ideal to use as a wine cozy when transporting your wine bottles from the store, or to insulate cold wine bottles for travel.

Crochet Christmas Wine Gift Cozy
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Lily Sugar N’Cream Cotton Yarn. Size 4 Medium.
Attach yarn to crochet hook using an MC.
Row 1: CH 1 and place 6 SC inside MC. SL st into 1st SC to join (6 total SC).
Row 2: CH 1 and then place 2 SC in each st in the row. SL st in 1st SC (12 total SC st).
Row 3: CH 1 and then place *1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in 1st SC st (18 total SC st).
Row 4: CH 1 and then place *1 SC in st 1 - 2, 2 SC in st 3.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in 1st SC st (24 total SC st).
Row 5: CH 1 and then place *1 SC in st 1-3, 2 SC in st 4.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in 1st SC st (30 total SC st).
Row 6: CH 1 and then place *1 SC in st 1-4, 2 SC in st 5.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in 1st SC st (36 total SC st).
Row 7: CH 1, working in the next st, place 1 SC in the BLO. Place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row, including the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st SC st to join (36 total SC st).
Row 8: Ch 1, working in the next st, place 1 SC in each st in the row, including the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st SC st to join (36 total SC st).
Row 9: Locate the FLO (from Row 7) directly below the current st. Working in the following FLO, place 1 TR. Place 1 SC in the following 3 st (on top row). *Yarn over 2x, re-insert crochet hook in current FLO. Yarn over and pull up through the loop. Yarn over and drop 2 loops 2x (you should have 2 loops on your crochet hook). Yarn over, skip 3 FLO, working under 4th FLO from current, yarn over and drop 2 loops, then yarn over and drop 3 loops. Working in the current row, place 1 SC in the 3 stitches centered above the current FLO.* Repeat * Around the row. At the end of the row, yarn over 2x, re-insert crochet hook in current FLO, yarn over, pull up through the loop, yarn over 2x (you should have 2 loops on crochet hook), yarn over and insert crochet hook around the stem that forms the 1st TR st of this row, then yarn over and drop all loops on the crochet hook for a SL st. Place 1 SL st in the top row directly above crochet hook.

Crochet Christmas Wine Gift Cozy
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM

Row 6: CH 1 and then place *1 SC in st 1-4, 2 SC in st 5.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in 1st SC st (36 total SC st).
