Crochet Bird House Pattern
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: Wool and the Gang’s Raffia Ribbon Yarn (this is water-repellent)
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 2 and place 12 DC inside MC. SL st into 1st DC to join (12 total DC).
Row 2: CH 2 and place 2 DC in each st in the row - starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (24 total DC).
Row 3: CH 2 and place **1 DC in st 1, and 2 DC in st 2.** Repeat ** around the row, starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (36 total DC).
Row 4: CH 2 and place **1 DC in st 1 - 2, and 2 DC in st 3.** Repeat ** around the row, starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (48 total DC).
Row 5: CH 2 and place **1 DC in st 1 - 3, and 2 DC in st 4.** Repeat ** around the row, starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (60 total DC).
Row 6: CH 2 and place 1 DC in each st in the row - starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (60 total DC).
Handle (between Rows 6 & 7): CH 5, skip 7 st, in the BLO of the 8th st, place 1 SL st. Turn work and place 20 SC OVER the CH rope you just created.
Row 7: After placing the 20 SC OVER the CH rope, dive back into the 1st st of the row (current st where you placed 1 SL st), and place 1 DC in each st in the row - skipping the SL st at the end of the row (60 total DC).
Rows 8 - 11: CH 2 and place 1 DC in each st in the row - starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (60 total DC).
Row 12: CH 2 and place **1 DC in st 1 - 3, then DC 2togeher in st 4 & 5.** Repeat ** around the row, starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (48 total DC).
Row 13: CH 2 and place **1 DC in st 1 - 2, then DC 2togeher in st 3 & 4.** Repeat ** around the row, starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (36 total DC).
