In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet small butterfly applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colors (110) Black and (146) Vivid Blue. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 9.5cm wide x 7.5cm high (3.75” wide x 3” high) for the larger butterfly, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the small butterfly in Catona will be 7cm wide x 6cm high (2.75” wide x 2.5” high). The medium butterfly will be 5.5cm wide x 5cm high (2.25” wide x 2” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small butterfly will be 5cm wide x 4.5cm high (2” wide x 1.75” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
