In my crochet tutorial today I'll be showing you how to make this crochet mermaid applique.

For this pattern you will need 4 or 5 colors of crochet cotton or wool, I used Scheepjes Catona crochet cotton colors (105) Bridal White, (208) Yellow Gold, (106) Snow White and (146) Vivid Blue. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. Scissors. Darning needle to weave in ends. Sewing thread and needle to stitch the mermaid together. Embroidery thread or black beads for the eyes. A bead for the flower centre if desired.
The finished size will be 16cm x 22.5cm (6.25” x 8.75”) for the larger mermaid, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The medium mermaid will be 11cm x 15.5cm (4.25” x 6”) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small mermaid will be 8.5cm x 10cm (3.25” x 4”) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
