A discussion with author Kristen Hadeed on Core Values.
Understanding your core values is essential for living a fulfilling and purpose-driven life.
Your core values are the guiding principles that shape your beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors.
They define what is most important to you, and can help you make decisions that align with your true self.
When you know your core values, you can better prioritize your time, energy, and resources towards the things that matter most to you.
You can also use your values to set goals and boundaries, and communicate more effectively with others.
Without a clear understanding of your core values, you may find yourself feeling lost or unfulfilled, or making choices and setting goals that don't align with your true desires.
So take the time to explore and define your core values, and let them guide you towards a more purposeful and meaningful life.

This short talk is based on organizational psychologist Adam Grants research published in academic journals and his book Give and Take.

[TRANSCRIPT]:
Do nice guys actually finish last?
According to Adam Grants book Give and Take, nice guys do finish last.
Men and women who identify more as givers, they actually under perform.
They do less quality work.
The ironic part?
The givers were also at the top.
The question is, whats the difference?
Whats the difference between the givers who are the high achievers doing the best work, getting promoted the most, versus the givers that are down at the bottom?
The difference is the ones at the top are less agreeable.
Theyre not people pleasers.
They have boundaries.
While its definitely not a bad thing to be a giver, you have to be a giver with boundaries.
You have to stop people-pleasing.
The classic plight of the giver is that they give to themselves last. Do nice guys really finish last? Heres what science says.](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pPwPnn_2xYQ/mqdefault.jpg)
