- I love this game and it's my game of the year for 2024. You can see the upload date is still early in the year, but it's not going to change.
- Steve Blum voiced Master Contra in Neo Contra and it's fitting that WayForward had him voice Bill Rizer. His voice is perfect, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
- Bill's got the standard Contra weapons and I stuck with the Spread Shot and the Crush Gun for most instances. The Spread Shot is a highly defensive weapon, and paired with the Crush Gun, it's also a boss killer. When the Crush Gun is powered up, it forms black holes that alter the paths of bullets, sometimes to your detriment - be careful - I got hit in stage 3 because I was trying to be a cool guy with it.
- What's up with the stage 3 boss? It kept shooting fireballs at the ground, making me dodge around until it quit. That's RNG for you though.
- I have a hard time with the stage 6 mid boss and the first boss of stage 8 - I could keep practicing - and I will - but I suppose it worked out in this playthrough.
- I was practicing early on the morning that I recorded this video and I had 8 deaths on the ending screen with a comparable time, so I decided that I was ready to record Hard difficulty.
- Hard difficulty adds more enemies to the field, and if you're used to playing on Normal, you're gonna be in for a few surprises. I like playing the game on Hard though - it's more challenging and fun.
- I beat the game in 58m18s, and that would get me the Rocket Fight achievement if I didn't have it already.
