When an alien spaceship crashed into earth it contained technology that helped the planet battle extraterrestrial invasions. Thus was born 'Robotech' (1985), an anime series that spawned a plethora of sequels, movies, etc that continued for decades. In the US the Harmony Gold production was syndicated to individual stations rather than on a network or cable channel, though it would later run on Sci-Fi and elsewhere. IGN rated it #34 in the 100 greatest animated shows ever. The series was divided into three storylines; all three used the same opening theme but with different visuals, while the end theme changed over time; all themes by Ulpio Minucci.
