For two seasons on NBC, plus another in syndication, 'Camp Candy' (1989) told the animated story of John Candy's kids' camp. Candy was portrayed as a big-hearted lug who each week stumbled into some sort of trouble. Real-life John Candy enlisted friends from SCTV to do guest shots, including Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, et al. The theme song was written by Harry Nilsson ('Courtship of Eddie's Father'), performed by Nilsson and Candy, while the end credits rotated an assemblage of old songs and soundalikes given new lyrics.
