In 1992 Joss Whedon's theatrical film of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' was released to mixed reviews. The movie was a modest success but other cooks had watered down Whedon's broth. In 1997 the tv series debuted, and this time Whedon (as EP and show runner) had control. 'Buffy' ran for seven seasons, and its spinoff 'Angel' lasted for five. The show won three Emmys and ranked #7 of TV Guide's 'Greatest Sci-Fi' Shows of All Time'. The theme is by California punk band Nerf Herder (Alyson Hannigan had asked Whedon to check out their music).
