Between the time when 'The 6 Million Dollar Man' first appeared as an ABC tv movie and the series proper began, there were two more 'movies of the week'...pilot films that were the first attempts at making the movie into a series. Glen Larson (one of the founding members of the Four Preps, who backed up Ricky Nelson when he started singing on 'Ozzie and Harriet') had become a producer at Universal. He was behind the two pilot films and assigned himself to write a theme song. And it was in fact a theme *song*, delivered in spunky fashion by none other than Dusty Springfield.
