I was asked to set up a meet up for locals to get together again before Christmas. I did, and this is the result, BUT, I had no clue, as to what had happened about the same time I began my hike.
NOTE, this was before, learning of some devastating news and everything I talk about in this video, was not planned. That being said, I have met and made good friends with many over the years on yooutube and some are close friends, almost family.
Others like A man named Robbie Richardson, live too far to get together regularly and, in fact, over the last decade plus, we planned it a few times but fires, work, lack of work, family, etc, always prevented it. Upon arriving home this trek, I was faced with this message on messenger.
Friends and family of Robbie,
Our family has experienced a tragic loss. My Dad experienced a massive hemorrhagic stroke last night. He is currently on a ventilator while we move forward with the next steps. He is at Mercy Hospital in Redding, CA. Please feel free to stop by to see him. We will be there off and on for the next few days. He is stable but the stroke was devastating and he will not recover from it. Please keep our family in your prayers and know that my dad cared so deeply for everyone in his life.
Note, that was posted on the 7th. You, nor I have ever met the man, but he was one of us! He strived for, liked, did, and experienced many of the same exact things we have. Posted the same type videos, comments and liked many of ours. It is always hard to say goodbye. Like I said, we, ha never met, but I will miss his comments, and posts. Please add him and his family to your prayers. Rest in peace Robbie and peace be with your family.
