Imagine for a few if you were cut off from the world of today. Your life changed in every way. The cities overrun with scum, "even more so than today", stores looted or empty. Food gone or scarce and your only option is to get out, but lack of gas, transportation, a clear way out. Would you have ANY idea how to squeak by? "I know already the majority of you will say, (I HAVE GUNS)" Well so do millions of others and some of them have zero morals, zero honor, zero mercy. They will use any means to get what they want at ANY COST. Are you? Violence is rarely the answer. Avoiding confrontation is far better and many times, opens other options. That being said, save your "HE MAN B.S. for your buddies while you are getting high and hanging out with the rest of the King of the ill crew.
Do you have the know-how, or skills to get you and your family through for a time till the dust clears? I realize it is not feasible to expect to live forever in the shadows now days, but a few days, a few weeks may just be what it takes to find other options.
Learning to fish, hunt, track, navigate, used to be a passage thing when I was a kid. Now with the phones and other b.s., parents, dads have no time or interest in teaching their kids any of this. Many say these traits are obsolete and a waste of time.
I say you don't realize something important. For example, fishing is so much more than catching fish! You learn so many skills, Patience & Perseverance. With today’s smartphones and high-speed internet … These things get lost.
Going hand-in-hand with patience is also the concept of loss. Problem Solving. Another key to success in life is the ability to anticipate and Friendly Competition. In fishing, you’re often competing with others, coordination and problem solving.
You see, the THINGS OF OLD, had and still have, a great purpose. Today's generation has become weak and lazy, always looking for the easy way out and our nation has paid the price.
This is just my observation and take it or leave, but if something, a global catastrophe was to hit us, would you and your kids have a clue how to get from point a to point b, keeping your scalps, food and water in reach and a safe place to get out of the mix for a bit? Something to think about in today's world
