How to make super realistic corrugated steel roofing for model railroad structures.

We made rusty corrugated steel roofing for the 1:20.3 model of the Chama coaling tower on our railroad from aluminum craft foil cut into 2.5-inch by 6-inch sections and run through a "tube squeezer," a gadget made to squeeze artists' paint from tubes.

The sections of corrugated aluminum were cut down into proper sizes and then "rusted" by placing them in Ferric chloride. This acid eats away at the aluminum and rusts as it dries. The look is amazing!
