Laser cut or CNC router cut track templates are incredibly useful when laying out and even laying proper curves with even radii using flex track or hand laying.
Several years ago I laid the 50" radius curve that will be behind the roundhouse on our F scale (1:20.3 scale) model railroad. At the time I used a 50' string anchored at the center of the. curve and a pencil to mark the "exact" curve. I know it was off a tiny amount as this is not an accurate way to establish a curve. But it was all I had to work with.
A better system is using track templates, but while this are available in smaller scales, not so much in 1.75" (45mm) gauge.
But a friend as come to the rescue! Check it out!
