Throughout my career I've had the pleasure of meeting MANY different types of bands; AND, what I find most intriguing is not only learning about the origins of their respective brutalities, but just as important what DRIVES them to pursue their own endeavors in the music scene; for some they covet the recognition or fame,...while others feel the need to 'belong' & yet, some require the musical outlet to express their inner turmoil. While it can be debated that a combination of ALL THREE is crucial to succeed in the ever debilitating music business, there is one idiosyncrasy that is absolutely necessary to reach the utmost heights of prosperity & that is the aspiration for RESPECT,…..through the highest levels of integrity for the music, the scene & the brotherhood. NO band better embodies that sentiment more than south Texas quintet, Cerebral Desecration! CD is surely not new to the Texas scene - founded by rhythm guitarist, David Machado back in 2010 out of San Marcos, Texas; AND, since that time have managed to establish themselves as one of Texas' MOST brutal bands with their unique blend of groove-oriented metal,..with songs like 'The Washed Away, 'The Ghost of Me' & 'Suffer In Bliss'. With the 2020 release of the band's acclaimed EP, 'Further Than The Bottom' the band established themselves as a TRUE force & in 2025 the band further solidified their position with a string of STRONG singles culminating in the release of their NEW EP, 'Empty Black', which has reverberated in San Antonio & beyond. Having heard its satisfying progressions, I knew it was time to get the band back in the RMW Studio to discuss the release & ALL that has transpired for them in this dynamic environment. SO, on June 14th, 2025, I invited the entire band over for what would become an evening of truths, transparency & subtle debauchery. In the interview below you will see us discuss the following: the band's evolution (with the addition of lead shredder, Daniel Ortiz), the strength to persevere, the new EP, their live mindset, recording, the artistic perspective, touring (& 'Intensity In 10 Cities'), upcoming video work & emotional reflections.
