Canon DOOM is the latest of a long line of examples of the Wolfenstein ripoff shooter running on literally anything with a screen - but this time it’s on a DSLR
A specific version of Canon EOS 550D equipped with custom firmware can now use the directional buttons to control movement, menu button to pause, and set to select and shoot - all while getting the game’s original audio firing through the integrated camera speakers
The game files can be booted into directly from an SD card, kinda like one of those modern retro handhelds, and as long as you have one of these cameras running specifically the firmware version 1.0.9, it’s apparently really easy to get set up on your own hardware
