Build a Twin Motor RC Airplane Free Plans!
In this video I will take you step by step on how you can easily build a twin motor RC airplane with free plans. This airplane is made from 3/16 inch foam board and goes together in a few days.
This is a very simple DIY foam board RC airplane that is a great first twin plane for the new builder. As a matter of fact, this is my very first multi-engine RC airplane.
Below is a link to how to wire dual ESCs and lipo batteries to allow this twin motor setup. There is also a video describing in detail how to make the wing in 10 minutes.
The model has a 44 inch wingspan, so there are two panels (foam board came in 30 inch wide sheets) joined with 1/16 inch plywood wing braces. There is no dihedral in the wing, it is a flat wing.
The video continues in how to make the fuselage and formers, tail surfaces and motor firewall installation. I decided to put the two lipo batteries in the aircraft nose for center of gravity considerations.
Total weight of the twin motor RC airplane is 1 pound 8 ounces without the batteries, and this is a very reasonable weight for an airplane of this size.
Video shows the maiden flight of this DIY RC airplane and it could not have gone any better. The plane literally flew out of my hands. Be sure to put the motors to idle before landing to avoid a prop strike.

8 x 6 props
Castle Talon 25 ESC
2 3 cell lipo batteries
Spektrum AR620 receiver
HS 55 servos for the ailerons, HS40 for rudder and elevator
