Shirley had discussed that Favreau approached him about changing Bo's theme to better fit her arc in season 3, and that he had to refit and change Göransson's leitmotif for her in the second season to be more suited to her growth and emotional journey. Göransson's theme for Bo-Katan was a simple six note motif, usually played on blaring synths accompanied by a repeating, grungy industrial beat that gives her a deadly, efficient, and tactical sound. It's one of my favorite themes in the entire series, but what Shirley did to change her theme was so unique and interesting. She now has a complete theme with four phrases, that start off of a more noble, somber sounding six note motif. Shirley interweaves Bo's motif from the second season as the third phrase of her complete theme, and the final phrase is a slight variation of it that ends on a more climactic note. What Shirley's contributions add to Bo-Katan's theme is subtle and intelligently manufactured, creating a theme for Bo-Katan that captures not only her nobility, heroism, tragedy, but also rise to leadership throughout the season. Altogether, the musical identities of Bo-Katan meld into a theme befitting of the leader of the Nite Owls.
