How To Make the Best Amer Picon Substitute
6 parts Amaro Averna
6 parts Suze
2.5 parts Cointreau
1 part Angostura Orange bitters
I forgot to mention in the video, if you are licky and have some China China Bigallet and want to try it in the Picon substitute, follow these specs instead :
6 parts China China
6 parts Suze
1 part Cointreau
1 part Angostura Orange bitters
I initially emphasized that Angostura orange bitters were mandatory, but in fact, all four ingredients are essential. Substitutes like other Gentian liqueurs, such as Salers, or other amari, will not work as well. The only ingredient that can be substituted is the Cointreau, which can be replaced with another high-quality Triple Sec at 40% alcohol.
