I finally cut a super early release of MinDiab, my roguelike hack and slash game - see wizardscode.itch.io/mindiab. Follow progress in my DevLogs youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6pqvWkvTOzReAsV5LaI_dS7UmGwMFtWx
It's got many of the basic gameplay mechanics and about 10 minutes of gameplay. I'd love for you to play it and provide feedback on what you like and don't like, including which bugs are the most annoying and thus should be fixed first
This is a super early pre-alpha build of a classic hack and slash Roguelike. It is not a complete game, just a rough runtime level generator and some basic gameplay. There is about 10 mins actual play in here and I would love your early feedback to help me focus my efforts in the right places.
We have the following systems in place and ready to test:
- Runtime generated dungeons
- Simple melee combat
- About a half dozen enemies (though they all have the same AI at this point)
- Weapon Types
- Spells
- Stat modification
- Early adaptive music system
- Core sounds engine
- Achievements / Experience system
- Hub world location (but no inhabitants yet)

The rest of this description is aspirational and a work in progress:
The beasts of fantasy literature are real. The war is escalating. The Dims (Dimensioners) are gaining the upper hand. Their mastery of magic means they can bring some of their weapons through the dimensional gates. Our home world defenses will begin to fall soon, yet our offense is impossibly weak.
However, it seems that the Dims are unaware that the dimensional gates can also send us through time. This gives us a glimmer of hope. Can we send our brightest and best into key points of the Dims history and rid them of their successful leaders before they launch their attacks?
Each jump through time and dimensional space is an opportunity to change history and, maybe, stop the war from ever starting. Countless lives can be saved, but how many times will you lose yours?
