"So I walked out of the main room... little bit intoxicated little bit exhausted. On my way up seventh street I saw my good friend Sean Mcpherson beating the piss out of some kid who apparently is known for bootlegging concerts and selling them on ebay... As the kid lay on the sidewalk, basking in his bloody afterglow, I dug through his pockets and stole his mini-disc player... The contents of which are now here on this CD for you to either make fun of, or make love to. Thanks for the food."

I was digging through my music and found this guy. Atmosphere is one of the groups that really set me on my journey through music. I first heard this many years ago, and it was such a treat for me, as a fan, to hear other fans wild n' out to some of my favorite early work by Atmos. Accompanying Sluggo is the live hip-hop band Heiruspecs, and booy howdy do they lend a wonderful hand. The live bass, drums, guitars they really make the tracks into, not wholly something else in some cases, but in others? Look at Abusing Of The Rib. At the end of its run, it takes on a rocky air with Slug shouting the vocals out. Makes one wonder how many other universes Atmosphere is a successful rock band. I hesitate to say this is a good starting point for those unfamiliar with Atmosphere due to the lack of Ant and his beats, but it does introduce the uninitiated to the strengths of Slug's writing abilities. "I want to follow a train up my lover's arm/destination the brain pop out find out what's going on" has been one of my favorite couplets for fucking YEARS. Introspection and partying, the aptly named Sad Clown.
