Louder than its predecessor, Two Guns, Twin Arrows is an interesting followup to Abilene's self-titled. Interesting in that I can't quite make out what it's about. I recognize the energy, forlorn and angry, but can't make heads or tails of the words, and will add more to this description as things come to me. I didn't want to put off publishing any longer just because I don't have a writeup yet.
"Solidarity"
Fate vs Faith in the final track carries separate meaningful connotations. The lyrics has it written "fate outlined this morning," but the spoken lyric is "faith outlined this morning." Faith has more in it to make things happen than subscribing to the notion that fate will. Faith in nearly anything can bring about wonder if the faith is strong enough to move the person. Whatever "this morning" is in reference to, some sort of black light, it's very interesting to me the very separate connotations of fate bringing about this black light vs faith. Fate? Nothing anyone could do about it, like a force of nature. Faith? Someone took the time, and strained hard enough, to bring it. It could also just be a minor changing of words that vocalists often tend to do when singing vs the written lyrics that doesn't really mean anything in that moment.
