Annie's Canyon is a 1.5 mile loop near Solana Beach with a sandstone slot canyon, narrow passages, and short ladder climbs. The trail runs through San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve with views of the wetlands and migrating waterfowl. It's close to Interstate 5, making it a quick stop for travelers. The slot canyon section requires some scrambling and is narrow in places. Best hiked in cooler months since there's minimal shade. Free parking at the trailhead, no permit needed.
